--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just as she was about to close her eyes, a great pain came to her belly. "I think they're coming!" she said thru gritted teeth. Another sharp pain seized her belly as she said that. Mossfur dug her claws into the ground and let out a tiny yowl of pain. She closed her eyes and pushed, and sure enough, one tiny white kit came out. But the pain from her belly was greater now, and she pushed again. This time, a white she-cat with a ginger tail came out.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sedgefur ran his tongue over the the first kit, drying off its wet white fur and nudged the kit to Mossfur's warm belly before cleaning off the second kit and doing the same. "A tom and a she-cat." He smiled warmly, but his attention went back to her stomach as he felt another contraction.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She smiled. "Great!" she tried to sound happy, but another wave of pain washed over her. She pushed again and let out a yowl. Another kit-a tom- came out. She breathed a sigh of relief, but the pain didn't stop. "Is there another kit?" she asked thru gritted teeth.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"One more and then you're done." Sedgefur replied after nudging the third kit over to her belly.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She nodded and pushed. It took longer this time, and the pain was great, but finally, another tom came out. Mossfur let out a huge sigh of relief and looked at her 4 cats.
First was a white Tom. He was white and had green eyes, and had a brown tail, ears, and spots. He had a solid build. Second was a white she-cat with a ginger tail, ears, and patches. She also had green eyes. The third kit was a white Tom. His tail was a mottled gray and ginger, as were his ears and patches. The fourth kit was a small, frail Tom. He was a mottled tan and white Tom.
"They're so beautiful..." she let a single tear fall to the ground-a tear of joy. She curled her tail around the kits and looked at Patchwhisker. "They're so beautiful," she repeated.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"One she-cat and three toms. Congraulations." He purred softly, backing up so Patchwhisker would have more room to see his kits.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mossfur looked at Sedgefur. "Thank you so much." She smiled and looked at her kits. She noticed the small tom, and his wiry build. He kept bumping into her-almost like he was blind. "Can you examine them for me?"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He was purring softly, just thinking of how beautiful they were when he noticed just as Mossfur did. "Is he...blind?" He choked out, sitting down and resting his tail over his paws. As usual, he kept his calm stature, but his eyes flashed with worry. "Please tell me he can at least see a little..."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sedgefur examined the tom she pointed out, checking his eyes closely and he frowned slightly. "He's not completely blind." He answered, looking back up at them. "But you could say that he is half-blind. It happens sometimes in larger litters."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He flattened his ears. "Well he is still my son, and is beautiful the way he is." He glanced at Mossfur. "Names?"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mossfur sighed, but nodded.
"The first tom should be Snowkit."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He nodded, purring a bit. "That sounds good."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"What about the she and the two other toms?"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Well I had a few names picked out..." He smiled, touching his nose to the she-cat. "Splashkit," He motioned to the 3rd kit, a tom. "Talonkit," Then he turned to the last one, the half-blind one. "And Hawkkit."
