Sedgefur
Description
Sedgefur has chocolate colored brown fur that is mixed with speckles of gray due to his older age. He has a white face which is other wise known as a "Baldface" that covers his muzzle, forhead, eyes, nose, etc. He also has a white patch on his flank, white tail-tip, and a white spot on one of his paws with intellegent amber eyes.
Personality
Sedgefur is a very kind soul. He's the type of cat everyone seems to turn to for advice or just someone to talk to. His love for working with the herbs has made him a great medicine cat and he's quite clever. He's not one to socialize that much, mostly he's found in his den, but his kind personality towards others seems to attract. He's friends with many. However, his temper can be broken if things get out of hand and it's no fun when he's in a grumpy mood.
Gender & Age
He is a tom of course and he's 89 moons.

Sedgefur had two brothers. One was Harewing, who died as Harestar; he was the previous leader. And then there was Grassclaw.
His History
~Life as a Kit~
There was a rumble from under Sedgekit's paws and he squeaked when Grasskit bursted out from under the mound of snow, tackling him to the ground. "No fair! You're suppose to wait until I hide." Sedgekit insisted, shoving Grasskit off with a sniff.
"You didn't hide fast enough." Grasskit replied, jumping up onto his paws again. "Now to find Harekit. Did you see where he went?"
"If I told you, you'd just cheat again." Sedgekit licked one of his paws, grinning smugly at Grasskit as he scowled at him and bounded off to find their other brother. Sedgekit remained where he was, his curious amber orbs taking in his surrondings. His mother and father were sitting next to each other, sharing tongues and chatting, but he wasn't interested in walking over to them. A wift of a sharp scent came to his small pink nose and his ears perked forward as he turned around.
Dawnfur sat in front of her den, sorting through her herbs. Not noticing the small kit until he spoke to her. "Hi, Dawnfur. What'cha doing?" Sedgekit blinked up at her with innocent eyes.
The she-cat looks up a few seconds later and smiles at him. "Hello, Sedgekit. I'm organizing my newest herbs. I like them to be neat in my den so I know where they are."
"What's that? It smells weird." Sedgekit wrinked his nose, pawing at some catmint.
"Catmint. Careful, don't get too much on your paws. It helps heal coughs." Dawnfur gently took the herb away from the kit and back onto the pile where she had put the other catmint.
Sedgekit tilted his head, sniffing his paws. His nose wrinkled again when he found that they smelled like the herb. "Mapleheart told me that the poppy seeds taste good, but they make you sleepy. Are these poppy seeds?" He pointed at a few seeds that were next to Dawnfur's paws.
"Yes they are. And you're mother is right, they do make you sleepy. You should never eat them if you don't need them to dull pain." Dawnfur warned scooping up the herbs and she disappeared into her den after that was spoken.
Rabbitstar was the current leader of CloudClan. The tom was old, and turning gray around the muzzle and neck, but he was a very wise leader and everyone respected him. Sedgekit had once played a game where he pretended he was Sedgestar, but it was just a game. He never really wanted to be leader when he grew up. Harekit and Grasskit thought he was crazy, but it's not a bad thing to not want to be a leader someday...
Sedgekit was quite absorb in his mind, that he had failed to notice that Harekit and Grasskit were stalking up from behind him and the little kit squeaked in suprise when they both pounced and pinned them down. "Ow!" He cried.
"Grasskit, Harekit! Stop at once, you're hurting him." Mapleheart's voice scolded them and Sedgekit's brothers quickly got off, letting their youngest littermate up.
Sedgekit glared at them and the tip of his tail twitched, "I don't want to play hide and seek tackle anymore. Not when you two pair up on me."
"Fine, don't be upset, Sedgekit." Harekit answered, nudging his shoulder playfully. "We'll play a game of your choice tomorrow to make up for it!"
~Kit to Paw~
Rabbitstar leaped up onto Highrock and yowled. "Let all cats who can catch their own prey gather for a clan meeting!"
Sedgekit, Harekit, and Grasskit scrambled out of the den, their eyes bright with excitment as they sat under the Highrock. It had been six full moons and the three were ready to be apprentices.
"Finally! I thought he'd never name us apprentices. I can't wait, I'm going to be the best warrior ever." Harekit meowed excitedly, Grasskit gave a nod of agreement.
Mapleheart shushed them as Rabbitstar began to speak.
Grasskit and Harekit were walking the path of being a warrior, but Sedgekit had never told his two brothers that he had grown fond of working with Dawnfur in the Medicine Cat den. He had asked her if she ever would consider taking in an apprentice someday, and she said that she actually was thinking about asking him if he wanted to try it out.
And of course he agreed, he couldn't have been more excited than that day she told him that she would talk to Rabbitstar about making him her apprentice.
"--Grasspaw, your mentor shall be Ivorypelt. Ivorypelt, I trust that you will pass down your knowledge down to this apprentice." Rabbitstar finished.
Harepaw's mentor was Windpelt, Sedgekit had missed that part of the ceremony because he was deep in his thoughts, but now it was his turn.
Dawnfur stepped forward to speak. "Cats of CloudClan. as you know, I will not be around forever. So it's time I took an apprentice. I have chosen a cat who has shown thoughtfulness. Your next medicine cat will be Sedgepaw. " Sedgepaw heard Harepaw and Grasspaw gasp in suprise and they look over at him with disbelief. Not an upset disbelief, but they were shocked that he didn't tell them about this. Sedgepaw looked up as Rabbitstar spoke up.
"Sedgepaw, do you accept the post of apprentice to Dawnfur?" His leader's intellegant gaze looked down upon him.
"I do." He dipped his head.
"Then at the half-moon, you must travel to the Moon River to be accepted by StarClan." Dawnfur smiled at Sedgepaw, her green orbs gleaming.
Rabbitstar leaps down after that is said and he touches noses with Sedgepaw. " The good wishes of all CloudClan will go with you."
~Paw to Medicine Cat~
"Sedgepaw! Could you sort these herbs out? I need to check Harepaw's pad." He heard Dawnfur call to him from outside of the Medicine Cat's den.
Sedgepaw rolled his eyes. Harepaw got himself into trouble. Again. He lowly chuckled to himself, sorting through the new herbs Dawnfur and him had recently gone out to gather. The season was early greenleaf. The warmth of the sun seemed to even drift into the dark spots of the dens. Warming his pelt pleasantly as he worked.
Five moons ago, when his siblings and himself recevied their apprenticeship, Grasspaw and Harepaw had thought him mad for chosing a medicine cat's path instead of a warrior's. But honestly he enjoyed it.
"Sedgepaw?" A voice lifted his ears and he looked up. Mosspaw had entered the den.
"Hi Mosspaw. What do you need?" Mosspaw had been apprenticed two moons ago. He used to play with her at a younger age. She was great friends with Sheeppaw now.
"I was stung by a bee." Mosspaw sighed. "Ivorytail insisted that I get it checked. But I think I'm fine!" She mumbled.
Whiskers twitching, Sedgepaw moved over so he could examine the spot that was stung. The spot was swelling up. "It is swelling... I think there's something in here that will sooth the burn... The stinger is out so that's good. There'll be a less of a chance of infection then..." He mused outloud, searching through the herbs. "Ah-ha.. this should help." He took out a few blackberry leaves, chewing them up before applying them to the swelling wound.
Mosspaw wrinkled her nose at the stench of the herb, but the burn of the sting started to slowly ease as soon as Sedgepaw applied the substance. She sighed in relief, "Thank you, Sedgepaw." A smile came to her muzzle. "You're going to be a great medicine cat someday."
Sedgepaw ducked his head, shifting his paws. "Dawnfur taught me all I know.. She's the best."
Mosspaw tilted her own head. "Have you ever wondered how it'd be if you were training to be a warrior?" She wondered.
"Sometimes. In the beginning I was wondering if I made the right choice, but after healing my first injuries... I knew this was what I wanted to do. I didn't want to fight and hurt. I wanted to heal." Sedgepaw smiled. Not seeming offended by the question he recevied quite more than once.
