"It's been taken care of." Blazestar replied with a sly smile, his tail twitched in satisfaction. The coyote had been killed by the leader himself, though he lost another life in the battle. But the other leaders didn't have to know that. "How about we start this Gathering?" He didn't mean to sound impatient, but the sooner it was over, the less likely there would be trouble. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Dapplesky was thrilled to see the other medicine cats. Other than her sister, she had only them as friends. "No apprentice yet, bu maybe soon. I don't know if I'm ready though." She felt at ease talking to Sandflower. Dapplesky nodded to Brackenstripe in respect. She listened to the conversation patiently.
Sagepool smiled. "Well, I am sure that you will be a good warrior." she said figuring that he may as well ask the question. "Its nice to meet you Cinderpaw." she pondered at the prey question, "Well, my favorite prey is road-runner which to me is a very common prey like the mice. But in all honesty I can't tell you what all prey we usually have since I can't hunt that well so I usually don't remember prey real well." she admitted to the young tom.
Brightstar nodded curtly without saying a word to either of her counterparts. Her attempt at civility tonight was simply going to be holding her tongue until she needed to speak during her turn. She say no point in exchanging pleasantries with the likes of the Stormclan or Fireclan leaders unless directly asked something and even then she may not answer. The lynx-point she-cat stared out into the moon washed gathering of cats watching as few cats interacted with ones from other clans. Her ears twitched as she half listened to the toms next to her speak as well as the voices floating up to her from the ground.
Cinderpaw perked his ears at the word road runner he wasn't sure if he had ever tried it before. It sounded interesting to say the least. He wanted to ask her about her hunting skills but figured it rude to do so. And he didn't want to cause more tention than there already was, he was lucky to even be talking to the fireclan cat still and hadn't been caught by a warrior seeing as he hadn't even asked if he could stray from the clan. His navy colored eyes drifted to flamepaw as the young tom wandered over, "Hi! Im Cinderpaw." He said after the fire colored tom had introduced himself. He hadn't even needed to guess what clan the tom was in because of the color of his pelt. "It's nice to meet you." He added
Sagepool dipped her head at the other apprentice. "Hello there Flamepaw." she said brightly at the two apprentices. "Do not be afraid to ask question Cinderpaw, I wont hurt either of you especially since they are just harmless question." she spoke in honesty, her tail twitched thinking of how low some cats can/will/do go as to hurt the young-ones. She shook her head at her own thoughts.
Brackenstrile relaxed in the company of Dapplesky and Sandflower. He enjoyed the ease of talking to other medicine cats fully. He felt lucky to be apart from the rivalries.
"StormClan is well. And IceClan? FireClan?" He nodded to both medicine cats and settled down to gaze up at the leaders and wait for their answers.
"Iceclan is doing fine." Dapplesky replied cheerfully. Suddenly, her smile turned into a frown. She spoke in almost a whisper. "Though, we are getting low on a few herbs. I just can't seem to find them." The medicine cat looked to Sandflower and Brackenstripe with worry. "Is it the same for you two?"

Stonestar nodded curtly to the FireClan leader, casting a frigid glance over his broad gray shoulder at Brightstar as she remained silent, before looking back to Blazestar, a hardly-veiled look of determination glowing in his silver eyes. "That is good news. And we should. You may begin if you would like Blazestar." He stated, dipping his head in a show of courtesy to the ginger tom while he kept a tactile position away from Brightstar, his back slightly turned to show her the same contempt she showed the others. He looked out towards the Clans and raised his deep voice in a yowl.
"LET THE GATHERING BEGIN!" He called, before taking a step back and planting his large paws firmly on the textured surface of the meteor, his eyes trained out in a proud stare across the clearing as he lifted his head high and settled his sleek blue-gray tail around his paws, his ears fixed forward as he waited to see what Blazestar would announce.
Sandflower twitched her whiskers in amusement at Dapplesky's show of humility; the light ginger she-cat chuckling softly as she replied to her friend. "I have to disagree with you there Dapplesky. I think you'd make a wonderfull mentor." She stated with a low purr, before turning back to the dark tabby medicine cat of StormClan. "FireClan is doing very well this season, I dare say one of our best yet." She said with a proud smile. When Dapplesky asked her new question however, her ears drew back slightly at the serious turn, and her voice lowered subtly. "It is the same in FireClan... The removal of the coyotes thanks to Blazestar has returned much of the prey, but most of the herbs have been scorched by the sun this greenleaf, and it's almost impossible to find any that survive. I can only hope it takes a turn for the better... We almost had some complications with our newest queen, Copperwhisker's first litter. I had hardly anything to give her, and she is hardly past being an apprentice, still young and inexperienced in birthings. It could have been very bad, but StarClan blessed us with a healthy litter." She said with a sorrow-tinged relieved look. Sandflower, like the rest of the Medicine Cats, was one of the pillars of faith in StarClan for her Clan. If her faith ever waned, so would the Clan's. She pricked her ears and turned her attention to the leaders as Stonestar called the Gathering to commence.
Flamepaw smiled back to this new tom, excited to have the opportunity to meet new cats before his days as a warrior. He imagined friendly introductions and conversations would not be a regular thing at gatherings once he started fighting. However, it was nice to have another apprentice to chat with for the time being, knowing he would be just as excited as he was. Flicking a pointed ear, Flamepaw settled on his haunches, dipping his head in respect to his clan-mate. His head tilted as she encouraged Cinderpaw to ask questions, wondering how she was so open.
He glanced up to the three leaders once more, watching their banter with a sense of curiosity and wonderment. What were they discussing? What would be announced? Were some of the questions buzzing through his mind. He was eager for the gathering to begin, his curious nature getting the better of him as they sat waiting. Glancing back to Cinderpaw, the fiery tom dipped his head, hoping to perhaps meet with his new companion at future gatherings. He seemed friendly enough, and it would be interesting to hear any den-tales Stormclan kits had to offer. "Nice to meet you too Cinderpaw!" he mewed, his eyes darting to his mentor, hoping she wouldn't be displeased with his leaving. At the sound of Stonestar's bellowing voice, the Fireclan apprentice hopped to his paws, waving a quick goodbye with his tail tip as he headed back to Ryeleaf, knowing it might be best to sit with his mentor for the gathering. She would answer any questions he had, and hopefully guide him through the process of his first gathering.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Featherpaw gulped, looking nervously upon the larger cats, her smaller structure contrasting with the muscular warriors and apprentices. Glued to her mentor's side, she sat by his side, her heart pounding in both excitement and fear. What if a fight were to break out? She surely wasn't ready to defend herself against these tough cats! Her skills were based more on hunting, not fighting. However, the she longed to reach out and chat with another clan-member, get to know perhaps another apprentice's point of view. Maybe she would stray away and explore before the gathering.
Taking a tentative glance at her mentor Olivetail, she padded off, the Iceclan she winding her way through Fireclan cats, their bright pelts heavily contrasting against her own. Suddenly, her dull eyes caught another apprentice, who seemed to be part of Stormclan, sitting among her clan alone. Swallowing a nervous lump, the usually shy she raised her head, padding over to attempt introducing herself. She only knew kit-tales on Stormclan cats, but wanted to know for herself what life in Stormclan was really like. Approaching the she, Featherpaw dipped her head, smiling as she sat infront of the she, speaking quietly at first "Hello, my name is Featherpaw, what's yours?" she mewed, nervously glancing at the larger Stormclan warriors that surrounded her. Perhaps this wasn't her brightest idea, but she longed to perhaps make a friend her own age and gender. Please let this go well... she thought glancing to the chattering leaders with anticipation.
Just as Featherpaw looked up, she realized Stonestar had announced the start of the gathering, his booming voice silencing the clearing. Sighing, she gave a tentative nod to the unknown she, bounding towards her mentor once more to take her place by his side. She hoped perhaps she could get to know the apprentice afterwords, having a friend for gatherings would be nice.
Frostfang followed Brightstar down the mountainous slope, pausing as they reached the bottom to let his now seemingly pale amber eyes scan the silvery clearing. The rather tall IceClan deputy shook out his thick, shining pelt that appeared even more of a silvery moonlit hue. Holding his head high, Frostfang's whiskers twitched and his smug smirk returned to his whitewashed features. He swayed his relatively bushy tail behind him as he slipped into the crater, the rest of the IceClan cats spilling out around him. The frosty tom raised his tail with pride, his eyes glinting as he made his way around the crater, dipping his head courteously, yet not particularly friendly of the sort, when intercepted with the gaze or greeting of another cat. Eventually the echoing voice of Stonestar thundered throughout the clearing, and he followed his leader to take his place at the meteor.
Brackenstripe nodded. "The herbs have been running low, for us too," He mewed. "But telling the other Clans we are weak will cause possible war. Better keep quiet," He podded politely to the medicine cats as he changed to a whisper, casting a glance up to the meteor.
Blazestar took in a deep breath to prepare himself. He felt like he was still getting used to this. He moved closer to the crowd before him and spoke in a clear voice. "Welcome, everyone, to the Gathering. Starclan has brought us together under the light of the full moon with the intentions of peace," he said with an emphasis. "And share current news." The tom's eyes looked over the cats around him with a careful gaze. Everyone seemed calm so far. "Fireclan is doing well. We had a coyote problem, but with Starclan's blessing, it was taken care of. We welcomed Copperwhiskeer's kits into Fireclan recently. They are healthy." Blazestar's yellow eyes fell on Sorrelpaw, the newest apprentice. "We have one new apprentice, Sorrelpaw, whose mentor is Waspfang." He smiled at his own good news, knowing there wouldn't be much more after he spoke. "That is all." The Fireclan leader shifted back to let another leader speak. -------------------------------------------------------------- Sorrelpaw watched her leader intently. This was her first Gathering and it was a lot to take in. She focused on the metoer before her as the leaders began the Gathering. When Blazestar mentioned her apprenticeship, she smiled and looked away embarrassed.
Cinderpaw nodded about to ask his question to sagepool before stonestar announced the start of the gathering. "I should... probably get back to my clan." Cinderpaw said, a hint of disappointment in his voice. "It was nice to meet you both!" He said before darting over to darkpaw and taking a seat beside her already wondering if he would get to go to the next gathering and if sagepool and flamepaw were going to be there. He looked around for pantherclaw as blazestar spoke, he wondered if he should cheer for the news of sorrelpaw becoming an apprenrice or not he wasn't sure of traditions at gatherings but he felt like he should cheer for her. Instead the young apprentice kept quiet.
As Sagepool heard stonestar say the gathering would starting she said her farewells to the two young apprentices and headed over to join her clan as Blazestar spoke she remained quiet her orbs darting around the meteor as she took it all in thinking quietly to herself as she watched the others and listened to what everyone had to say whether there news was as good as Fireclans was unknown as of now but she had heard whispers of the shortage of herbs she wondered what may have caused that but said nothing remaining quiet as she watched the other leaders take turns speaking to one another and to the clans. Her expression grew cold as she watched the other clan cats. She could feel the anonymity from them her tail flicked irritably
Brightstar sat up straighter and curled her fluffy tail over her paws once Stonestar announced that the gathering was to officially begin. Her sharp blue gaze traveled over the gathered cats below illuminated in the pale silvery light of the full moon then turned her attention to the Fireclan leader as he stepped forward to make his announcements. Her ear twitched at the news of the coyote problem being taken care of. Good for them I suppose. She thought out of simple habit of slight courtesy. The pale tan leader stood and padded to the front taking Balzestar's place to give her announcements for her clan though there was not much she was going to say that the other clans truly needed to know. She held her head high and looked down at the cats gathered below as she spoke "Iceclan is doing well this greenleaf with the rivers and prey running. We too have new additions to our clan in the form of a healthy litter born to Sweetfern." She backed up back into her former place to allow Stonestar to make his announcements since she had no other news in particular to share.
Darkpaw purred quietly when Cinderpaw took his spot next to her as the leaders began to speak. The dark apprentice burned with curiosity about what was going to be said as well as what the young grey tom beside her was talking to the cats from Fireclan about. She itched to ask since she herself had been tempted to go and join in earlier but just as she had gotten the nerve to Stonestar had called the gathering to begin. She sighed and gazed up at the leaders on the textured rock before them, her aqua gaze traveling over to the young red Fireclan she-cat that must have been named Sorrelpaw when Blazestar announced her new apprenticeship. Her gaze only lingered briefly before she turned her attention back to the leaders as Brightstar had stepped forward to speak. The brown apprentice watched the lynx-pointed leader curious as to what she was going to say. Much to her disappointment when the she-cat seemed to just say the simplest of announcements and not really anything interesting. When the Iceclan leader finished speaking Darkpaw turned her gaze fully to the large blue-grey tom that was her leader. I wonder what he is going to say... She thought idly, as she waited for Stonestar to speak.
Dusttail sat up straighter and turned her attention for the cats around her to the leaders perched up on the meteor in front her head once Stonestar's voice rang out to signal the start of the gathering. She listened to her leader speak though she heard nothing that she of course didn't already know but she nodded a little when the sorrel leader mentioned the coyote problem and taking care of it. She remembered the fight well and it had not been the first time her leader had face a coyote for the clan. She was proud of that and was proud to be his deputy. The light brown she-cat listened respectfully to the Iceclan leader when she spoke, a little relieved when there was no truly ground breaking news announced from the clan who called the mountains their home. She flicked her tail a bit uneasy when it came to the Stormclan leader's turn to speak.
